Mini Golf Madness on The Travel Channel
March 30, 2004

Cable TV's The Travel Channel recently spotlighted 10 one-of-a-kind miniature golf courses as part of it's family fun travel week. Miniature golf courses around the country were awarded with such titles as Most International Miniature Golf, Scariest Miniature Golf, and most Competitive Miniature Golf Course.

Courses spotlighted included:

  • Camelot Golfland, Anaheim, CA - features five miniature golf courses all set in an awe inspiring castle setting.
  • Hawaiian Rumble, North Myrtle Beach, SC - erupting volcano, a challenging miniature golf course and especially challenging international rules miniature golf course.
  • Par King Skill Golf, Lincolnshire, IL - crazy golf at its finest, incredibly unusual homegrown obstacles - including replica Sears Tower and roller coaster obstacles.
  • Lexington Ice & Miniature Golf Center, Lexington, KY - three Bible themed courses, each hole represented by a Biblical verse.
  • Around the World Golf, Lake George, NY - international and United States themed holes
  • Blue Fox Walk, Simsbury, CT - no crazy obstacles here, but very realistic challenging golf obstacles including water hazards and sand traps
  • Putt-Putt, Augusta, GA - next to Augusta National, offers two elevated courses featuring several impossible holes
  • Ahlgrim Acres, Palatine, IL - very spooky 9-hole course in the basement of a Chicago area funeral parlor. Creepy.
  • May Day Golf, North Myrtle Beach, SC - lush crash landing tropical island setting, gorgeous miniature golf.

The Travel Channel is expected to air the hour-long miniature golf feature through the week of March 29, 2004; check your local listings for details.
